How do I hit a shot?
- Aim and power: touch near the ball and pull back. The ball goes the opposite way. The longer you pull, the harder you hit.
- Lock: let go to lock the shot. The swing starts after a short pause, and you can still cancel during it.
- Timing: tap during the swing. Early or late contact can push, pull, hook or slice the ball. On Easy the timing is assisted for you.
The club is chosen for you. You can change it from the club button before you aim. On the green the same gesture becomes a putt.
What do Easy, Normal and Hard change?
- Easy: assisted timing (every contact is clean), plus a preview of exactly where the ball will land.
- Normal: your own timing. The preview shows a landing range instead of a spot.
- Hard: dragging sets only the direction. A power bar rises and falls, and you stop it to set the power. There is no preview or prediction, and mistimed shots scatter the most.
Change the difficulty in Settings at any time. Rounds played with assisted timing (Easy) are recorded separately from rounds played with your own timing.
Can I replay the guided first hole?
Yes. In Settings, choose Reset tutorial. Your saved rounds are not affected.
How do tournaments and the World Tour work?
Choose a one-, two- or four-day event. You play each round, and a fictional field of 132 computer golfers plays alongside you on the leaderboard. In four-day events only the top 65 and ties after round two make the cut. The World Tour links four events, and you earn points at each stop. All tournament players are fictional.
What happens if my ball goes into a penalty area or out of bounds?
White stakes mark out of bounds. Yellow and red stakes mark penalty areas, and you choose your relief option on screen. Bunkers are not penalty areas. The course booklet before each hole explains the markings.
Is there a left-handed mode?
Yes. Left-handed controls and a high-visibility ball are in the pause menu during a round.
Multiplayer (beta)
What do I need for a nearby match?
- Two to four iPhones with iOS 18 or later, each with Worldwide Golf installed. Update every phone to the same app version.
- Connect all phones to the same Wi-Fi network, or hold them close together with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
- Allow Local Network access when iOS asks.
One player opens Multiplayer › Nearby › Host a match. The others choose Join a match and pick the host. The host then starts the match. No internet connection or account is needed.
My friends' iPhones don't show up. What can I try?
- Check iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network and make sure Worldwide Golf is switched on, on every phone.
- Guest, hotel, school and office networks often block devices from seeing each other. Try a home network, or turn on a Personal Hotspot on one iPhone and connect the others to it.
- Turn off VPNs and Low Data Mode for Wi-Fi, then keep the app open on every phone while you join.
- Make sure the host still has the lobby open.
Can we play together on one iPhone?
Yes. With Pass & play, up to six players take turns on one iPhone. The match is saved, so you can lock the phone between turns.
What do other players see about me?
Only your display name, your colour and your match data, such as scores and shots. They see it only during the match, and only the phones in the match. Nothing goes to the internet. We recommend using a nickname. See the privacy policy for details.
Your data
How do I clear my data?
Open Settings in the game and choose Clear local data. This removes your profile (name and flag), golfer appearance, rounds, records, tournaments, the saved round and pass & play match, and tutorial progress. Preferences such as units and sound are kept. To remove absolutely everything, delete the app.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. Worldwide Golf has no accounts and plays offline. Nearby matches use your local network only. In the free version, ads need an internet connection; without one, you simply tee off without an ad.
What's in the free version, and what does the full game add?
The free version includes the Original Course, the guided first hole, the daily challenge and pass & play, with an ad before each hole. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full game: Mesa Canyon, Alpine Lakes and Saltmarsh Links, tournaments and the World Tour, hosting nearby matches and golfer customization, with no ads. It isn't a subscription.
I bought the full game. How do I get it on another iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account and open Settings › Full game › Restore purchases. If Family Sharing is on, your family can use it too. For billing questions or refunds, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I change my ad privacy choices?
In the free version, open Settings › Full game › Privacy choices for ads (shown where Google's consent form applies), and iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. The full game has no ads.
Will my progress move to a new iPhone?
Your progress is stored only on your iPhone, and there is no cloud sync. It is normally included when you back up your iPhone or transfer data to a new one with Apple's tools. We can't restore lost progress, because we never receive your data.
Language, units and performance
Which languages are supported? How do I change the language?
English, German, Spanish, French and Japanese. The game follows your iPhone's language. To use a different language just for Worldwide Golf, open iOS Settings › Apps › Worldwide Golf › Language.
Can I switch between metres and yards?
Yes. Open Settings in the game and choose your units.
My iPhone gets warm, or the battery drains quickly.
In Settings, set Course detail to Balanced or Classic. If your iPhone gets hot, the game lowers the detail by itself.
Is there an iPad version?
No. Worldwide Golf is designed for iPhone only.
